The SafetyProfessional at Henkels & McCoy serves in a dual role; where the initialobjective is to operate in a consultative capacity, by providing expertsupport, guidance, and motivation to operations management and employees at alllevels. In addition, along with management, the Safety Professional at H&Mis expected to be a “hands on” partner in delivering various safety initiativesand programs specifically to develop a safety culture supporting the goal anddaily mission that “Nobody Gets Hurt” in the course of any work performed byH&M.
The successful candidatewill assist in monitoring and coordinating company safety and health programsand resources in the assigned geographical area. This would includeconducting safety inspections, incident investigation and analysis, safetytraining, safety reporting, and internal communications with regards to safetyconcerns, and upon request, company representation for OSHA Regulatorycitations and appeals.
Advises personnelregarding safety protocols and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.
Conducts routine andfollow-up safety and hazard inspections of Power Transmission or Distributionor Substation construction/work sites.
Responds to emergencysituations and conducts incident investigations.
Makes recommendationsfor correcting unsafe conditions and provides necessary safety training.
Conducts Job HazardAnalysis and Incident Investigations.
Internship or Co-Opcompleted in Utility Construction Safety - REQUIRED.
Bachelor’s Degree inSafety - REQUIRED.
Advancedcomprehensive Safety and Occupational Health knowledge of OSHA 1910.268 and1926 regulations.
Ability toassess work place hazards, determine the risks and provide solutions in anefficient, timely and cost effective manner.
Ability towork independently (self-managed with the ability to set goals and objectives)and on teams (leadership and/or participation) with very little supervision.
OSHA 500 Certificationpreferred.
Experience using Word,Excel and PowerPoint required.
Ability to travelovernight 100%
