Clarke of Schaumburg, IL, is seeking to hire a Manufacturing Intern, currently seeking or recently graduated with an Engineering degree that will be responsible primarily with enhancing our Preventative Maintenance Program. This may include, but is not limited to:

  • Implementing Infor Business System module to manage maintenance activity by working with management and consultant to gather and enter requirements.
  • Refining calibration/maintenance schedule by identifying critical quality inspections and repairs for all key manufacturing equipment across two facilities.
  • Developing reports to track overall process effectiveness for PM schedule completion, on time completion, downtime, repair cost, etc.
  • Identifying and procuring critical equipment spare parts.
  • Building appropriate storage areas for spare parts and other key equipment.

In addition to the preventative maintenance program, the intern will also assist with:

  • 5S production areas and identify ways to improve safety
  • AutoCad plant and equipment layout drawings
  • Directing contractors to execute repairs and shop floor improvements
  • Documenting and implementing manufacturing process improvements
  • Supporting Manufacturing in day to day operations and project management

WORK SCHEDULE AND SALARY

This position earns a competitive wage of $X/hr. and generally works 6AM-3PM, Monday-Friday (end times may vary based on business needs). The Manufacturing Intern works on average a 40+ hour work week and supports the summer seasonal operation (generally April-September).

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MANUFACTURING INTERN

As a Manufacturing Intern, you will be responsible for enhancing our preventative maintenance program, improving safety, helping to document process improvements and providing general support to the production staff on a daily basis. Your contributions will provide immediate results to the efficient and safe production of public health mosquito control products that help make people and communities around the world more livable, safe and comfortable.

When you are not providing production support, you are maintaining the work area and equipment, documenting daily work activity to ensure completion, and following safe work practices and procedures at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A MANUFACTURING INTERN

  • To be considered, applicants must be currently enrolled and have achieved junior or senior standing and/or have recently graduated from an accredited University or College
  • Major area of study must be Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations
  • In many cases this position may be used for internship credit
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Must be detail orientated, self motivated and able to work independently
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Communicate effectively in English in both written and verbal forms
  • Have a valid Drivers License with an excellent driving record
  • Ability tobend and lift approximately 50-75poundson a regular basis
  • Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office applications
  • Must be able to wear a respirator, when required, while performing necessary duties
  • Must be available to work through the end of our season (September/October)
  • Must be available to work Monday- Friday, 6:00am until 3:00pm (Overtime as necessary)
  • Comfortable performing assigned duties in a manufacturing environment
