As an AbbVie Experiential Intern, you'll participate in a paid, ten to twelve-week summer program that is focused on providing students with robust projects throughout the summer. As an intern, you will be located at our corporate headquarters in north suburban Chicago, with housing and shuttle services for eligible students.
Department Overview - Neuroscience Development
We are responsible for designing and executing phase 1-3 trials for neurological disorders including Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, multiple sclerosis, stroke, and spinal cord injury.
This role is intended for a health sciences student, ideally a PharmD student, PhD student, or medical student interested in learning more about a career in pharma/neuroscience R&D.
Responsibilities will include:
Answering focused questions critical to clinical trial startup through literature reviews.
Multiple sclerosis, stroke, and spinal cord injury disease state presentations.
Assisting the neuroscience operations team with study startup activities, such as site identification, potential investigators, contracting, and timeline generation
Support of ongoing clinical trials
Generation of slide presentations describing potential endpoints and recently generated trial metrics and data
Participation in team meetings and generation of meeting minutes (as appropriate)
Protocol and contract review
Completed at least one year of graduate level education before beginning internship
Must be enrolled in school the semester following your internship
Graduate Level Student: PharmD, PhD, or MD student with bachelor's degree in STEM field
Minimum Cumulative GPA: 3.0/4.0
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship (students on an F1 visa with CPT can be accommodated).
